Season 4: Fate Core

Fate Core is an imaginative role playing game with a complex mechanism that I think would appeal to preteens and teens.

I wouldn’t show this episode to my kiddo because of drug use references.

Language:                                                            🤐🤐 Out of 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

Tabletop Season 1: Settlers of Catan

So Settlers of Catan is a game that’s reasonable to introduce to older kids who have the patience for economy-building games.

A lot of the early episodes of Tabletop were not made to be particularly kid-friendly because, as Wil explained later, he didn’t initially expect kids to watch the show. So it’s reasonable to expect that this season will have few episodes that are truly suitable for kids. However, I’ll rate them all so that parents can know.

Language: a lot in this episode, but nothing bleeped. Wil shows his fondness for the word “dick” in this episode.                              🤐🤐🤐 🤐out of 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

Content: sex is referenced more than once in this episode, as are erections.                      🚽🚽🚽🚽🚽 out of 🚽🚽🚽🚽🚽

Interest: I think maybe ten year old and up might be interested in trying Catan.               🎆🎆🎆  out of 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆

Tabletop Season 1: Small World

small world

Small World is a world building game where different races of fantasy creatures compete for dominance in this “small world”. It could possibly be fun for kids maybe 9 and up, but this episode is distinctly not for children.

Language  Lots of bleeped and unbleeped language. 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐 out of 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

Content: he says “Hey, kids, smoking is cool!”.                                                                              🚽🚽 out of 🚽🚽🚽🚽🚽

Interest: It probably would be a fun game for kids, but whoa language on this one.        🎆🎆 out of 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Overall, I’d say the language was a deal-breaker for me as far as showing it to my 7 year old.

Tabletop Season 4: Star Realms

star realms

Hi, Internet! I did a search the other night for reviews of the Geek & Sundry show Tabletop, to see if any of them were kid friendly.

And guess what? I couldn’t find any. So I decided to start reviewing the shows for the purpose of my seven year old daughter.

I’ll be rating each episode for:

Language (bleeped and otherwise)

Content (sexy stuff, anything inappropriate for kiddos)

And interest level (would a 7 year old be  interested in this game?)

So this episode is a two-player deck building game called Star Realms. I’d say this episode would be fun for any kids interested in deck building games (like Magic, Pokemon, etc).

Language: minor, only one bleeped word.                                                                                   🤐 out of 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

Content: Wil references porn at the very end after he loses. Could easily be skipped.            🚽🚽 out of 🚽🚽🚽🚽🚽

Interest: For my kid? Not high. But other kids might love it.
